LG유플러스는 한국지능정보사회진흥원(NIA)과 공동으로 제안한 '광전송망에서의 양자내성암호(PQC) 적용방안과 프레임워크'가 한국정보통신기술협회(TTA) 표준으로 최종 채택됐다고 1일 밝혔다.

채택된 표준은 광종단장치(OTN)·광통신장비(ROADM) 등으로 구성하는 광전송망에서 PQC를 적용해 보안을 강화하는 기술적 방안과 고려사항·활용사례를 포함한다.양자내성암호를 적용한 광전송망에 대해 표준이 제정된 것은 국내 통신업계 최초라고 LG유플러스는 설명했다.NIA는 이 표준을 올해 구축하는 개방형 양자 테스트베드에 적용할 예정이다.

LG유플러스는 "이번 표준 획득에 앞서 지난 4월 PQC가 적용된 ROADM의 TTA 보안기능시험에서 10G/100G 암호화 카드에 대한 보안기능확인서를 획득했다"며 "이를 통해 공공·금융기관,술 담배 여자 게임 도박글로벌 기업의 양자보안 수요에 대응할 계획"이라고 밝혔다.

PQC는 수학적 난제를 이용해 양자컴퓨터의 공격에 견딜 수 있는 암호기술이다.LG유플러스는 양자컴퓨터 보급에 앞서 상용망 등에 강력한 보안체계를 갖추기 위해 시범 인프라 구축·운영사업,술 담배 여자 게임 도박기업용 PQC 적용 전용회선 상품 출시 등을 진행해왔다.

LG유플러스는 TTA가 올 하반기 출범 예정인 한국 주도형 글로벌 사실표준화기구 'QINSA'에도 참여할 예정이라고 밝혔다.
