23일 IB 관심학교 공모 설명회 개최…“한국형 바칼로레아 조성”

[헤럴드경제=박혜원 기자] 서울시교육청이 하반기 국제바칼로레아(IB·International Baccalaureate) 관심학교 추가공모를 실시한다고 11일 밝혔다.

IB란 비영리 국제 교육재단인 IB에서 1968년부터 운영한 국제 공인 프로그램으로,이주인 니지산지 월드컵주도적 학습 및 개념기반 탐구중심 기반 수업을 특징으로 한다.서울은 현재 IB 관심학교 38곳,이주인 니지산지 월드컵IB 후보학교 6곳을 운영하고 있다.IB 인증을 받으려면 관심학교-후보학교-인증학교 과정을 거쳐야 한다.

서울시교육청은 올해를 IB 학교 도입의 원년으로 삼고 오는 15일부터 23일까지 2024년 하반기 IB 관심학교 신청을 받는다.IB 관심학교는 학교 단위 IB 프로그램 연구·실천을 통해 미래핵심역량을 키우는 교육과정·수업·평가방법을 시스템화하고,소통·공유·협업의 업무 선순환 시스템을 통해 학교 철학과 조직 문화를 발전시킨다.심사를 거쳐 선정된 IB 관심학교는 오는 9월부터 운영을 시작한다.

오는 12일에는 서울시 성동구 소재 디노체 컨벤션에서 초·중·고 교원 및 교육전문직원 200여명을 대상으로‘IB 프로그램 및 IB 관심학교 공모 설명회’가 열린다.설명회에서는 서울시교육청의 IB 프로그램 운영 정책 방향 소개,이주인 니지산지 월드컵IB 후보학교 사례 공유 등이 진행된다.

이밖에도 서울시교육청은 내실 있는 IB 관심학교 운영을 위해 학교 현장에 IB 프로그램 운영을 위한 기반 조성,이주인 니지산지 월드컵교원 역량 강화 연수,IB 교원학습공동체 운영,이주인 니지산지 월드컵IB 관련 기관 및 인증 학교 탐방 등을 지원할 예정이다.

서울시교육청은 궁극적으로 서울 미래형 학교교육체제인‘한국형 바칼로레아(KB)’를 구현한다는 계획이다.미래역량 중심 교육과정,탐구형 수업,서·논술형 평가,이주인 니지산지 월드컵교수·학습 중심의 협력적 학교 운영을 모델화한다는 목표다.

조희연 서울시교육감은 “현장 중심 자발적인 IB 학교 운영을 통해 학교가 미래 역량 중심의 교육활동을 실천할 수 있도록 지원하고,서울교육이 IB형 평가를 통해 글로벌 보편성을 갖는 KB 모델 기반 조성까지 나아갈 수 있도록 교육과정-수업-평가 혁신을 위한 노력을 지속할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
