미국 연방 대법원이 트럼프 전 대통령의 지난 대선 결과 뒤집기 시도 혐의에 대해 면책 특권을 인정했습니다.
TV토론 승리 이후 사법 리스크까지 상당 부분 해소되면서 트럼프 전 대통령이 대선 초반에 기선을 제압했다는 평가가 나옵니다.

지난 2020년 대선 결과 뒤집기 시도 혐의에 대해 트럼프 전 대통령은 면책특권을 주장했습니다.

▶인터뷰 : 도널드 트럼프 / 전 미국 대통령(지난 1월)
-"대통령은 면책특권을 가져야 합니다.간단하죠.만약 면책특권이 인정되지 않으면,2017년 8월 25일 야구 경기일정안됩니다.저는 나라를 위해 잘못한 것이 없어요."

미국 연방 대법원도 이를 받아들였습니다.

"전직 대통령의 재임 중 공적 행위는 면책특권이 있어 형사 기소를 면제받아야 한다"고 대법관 6대 3으로 판결하고 "하급심이 적용하라"고 명령했습니다.

트럼프 전 대통령은 "헌법과 민주주의의 큰 승리"라며 "미국인인 것이 자랑스럽다"고 환영했습니다.

대법원 판결로 트럼프 전 대통령은 11월 대선 전에 사법 리스크가 사라졌고 대선에서 승리하면 기소를 중지할 것으로 전망됩니다.

- "이 같은 결과는 11월 대선 전에 재판이 열릴 가능성을 낮게 만들고 재판이 진행되기 전에 오랜 시간 지연될 것을 의미합니다."
