[헤럴드경제=김지윤 기자] 대한항공이 17일 이사회를 열고,루카스 글로버아시아나항공 화물기 사업 매각 우선협상대상자로 에어인천을 선정했다.

대한항공은 ▷사업 인수 시 거래 확실성 ▷항공화물 사업의 장기적인 사업 경쟁성 유지·발전 성장 ▷역량 있는 컨소시엄을 통한 자금동원 능력 등을 종합적으로 고려해 에어인천을 선정했다고 밝혔다.

에어인천은 2012년 설립된 국내 유일의 항공화물 전용 항공사다.아시아 노선 위주의 화물사업을 운영 중이다.향후 아시아나항공의 미주·유럽 장거리 노선 네트워크를 흡수하면 사업 경쟁력을 더욱 강화할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

대한항공은 에어인천과 계약조건을 협의한 후 7월 중 매각 기본합의서를 체결하고,루카스 글로버이후 유럽 경쟁당국의 심사 승인을 받을 예정이다.

대한항공 관계자는 “이번 우선협상대상자 선정은 기존 경쟁 환경을 지속 유지하는 한편,루카스 글로버국가기간산업인 항공화물 산업 성장을 위해 다방면을 고려했다”며 “조속히 매각 절차를 마무리하고,루카스 글로버아시아나항공 인수를 위한 신주인수계약 거래종결에 힘쓸 것”이라고 말했다.
