지역생물다양성전략 협의체 첫 회의

[서울=뉴시스] 구무서 기자 = 환경부와 국립생물자원관은 전국 17개 광역지자체와 함께 각 지역에 맞는 생물다양성전략 수립·이행을 위한 지역생물다양성전략 협의체를 출범한다고 26일 밝혔다.

국가생물다양성전략은 생물다양성의 보전과 지속가능한 이용을 도모하기 위한 5년간의 계획을 담은 범부처 최상위 계획으로 지난해 12월 국무회의 의결을 통해 제5차 국가생물다양성전략이 수립됐다.

제5차 국가생물다양성전략에 따라 지자체는 이를 반영한 지역생물다양성전략을 수립·이행해야 하며,최인규 홀덤정부는 국가생물다양성센터를 통해 지자체 전략 수립 및 이행을 지원 및 점검하도록 하고 있다.

국립생물자원관은 이번 협의체를 통해 각 지자체 담당자가 생물다양성전략에 대한 인식을 높일 수 있도록 정보 공유 창구를 마련하는 등 국가생물다양성전략의 성공적 이행을 위해 노력할 계획이다.

오는 27일 오후 서울 용산구 소재 KDB생명타워에서 열리는 첫 회의에서는 국가생물다양성전략과 지역생물다양성전략의 연계 중요성을 공유하고,최인규 홀덤시민과 함께하는 생물다양성 보전 행동,최인규 홀덤지역전략 이행 관측 공동연구 추진,최인규 홀덤지역전략 수립 지원 방안 등 주요 실천 계획에 대해 논의한다.

서민환 국립생물자원관장은 "이번 협의체 출범을 통해 지역생물다양성을 보전하고 회복함으로써 지역사회의 발전을 촉진하고 나아가 자연 혜택을 공평하게 누리는 지속가능한 사회를 만들 수 있을 것"이라고 말했다.
