무더위 쉼터 지정·점검…폭염대응 TF팀 9월 30일까지 운영

(원주=연합뉴스) 이재현 기자 = 강원 원주시는 2024년 여름철 폭염 종합대책을 추진한다고 17일 밝혔다.

지난해에 비해 3주가량 빨리 찾아온 때 이른 폭염으로부터 시민의 생명과 재산을 보호하기 위해서다.

안전총괄과장을 팀장으로 한 폭염대응 TF팀은 상황관리와 건강관리지원 2개 반으로 구성해 9월 30일까지 운영한다.

폭염 특보 발령 시 방문건강관리사업 전문인력 등을 통해 취약계층의 안전을 확인한다.

또 이·통장과 자율방재단 등을 활용해 무더위 쉼터를 점검하고 폭염대비 행동 요령을 안내하는 등 폭염 사각지대 최소화에 나선다.

이 밖에 지역 내 경로당,스포츠베팅사이트행정복지센터 등을 실내 무더위쉼터로 지정해 폭염에 지친 시민들이 더위를 식힐 수 있도록 할 방침이다.

원강수 원주시장은 "폭염으로 인한 주민 불편 최소화를 위해 체계적이고 효율적이면서도 선제적인 행정력을 펴 나가겠다"고 말했다.
