(서울=연합뉴스) 김기훈 기자 = 다음 달부터 서울에 거주하는 다자녀 가구는 남산 1·3호 터널을 무료로 지날 수 있게 된다.

서울시는 '서울특별시 혼잡통행료 징수 조례'가 개정됨에 따라 오는 8월 21일부터 다자녀 가족이 소유한 자동차에 혼잡통행료를 면제한다고 11일 밝혔다.

시는 심각한 저출생 위기를 극복하기 위해 다자녀 가구에 혼잡통행료를 면제해 주기로 했다고 설명했다.

자녀가 둘 이상이면서 막내 나이가 만 18세 이하인 다자녀 가구는 오는 12일부터 바로녹색결제(oksign.seoul.go.kr) 시스템에 차 정보를 사전 등록하면 된다.

등록을 마치면 8월 21일부터 남산 1·3호 터널을 지날 때 혼잡통행료가 자동 면제된다.

미리 등록하지 못한 경우 톨게이트 대면 부스에서 '다둥이 행복카드'를 보여주면 된다.

조례에 따라 서울시에 거주하며 둘 이상 자녀를 출산 또는 입양해 양육 중인 가족 소유(명의) 차 한 대만 등록 가능하다.

윤종장 서울시 교통실장은 "교통 분야에서도 저출생 위기 극복을 위한 방안을 지속적으로 고민할 것"이라며 "자동으로 혼잡통행료를 감면받을 수 있는 바로녹색결제 사전 등록으로 혜택을 편리하게 이용하길 바란다"고 말했다.
