사망자 23명 중 18명이 외국인 노동자였습니다.업체 대표는 '안전 교육을 충분히 했다'고 주장했지만 실제로는 내부 구조조차 제대로 몰랐던 것으로 보입니다.사망자 대부분 이렇게 출구 반대편에서 발견된 겁니다.잠긴 문이 없었기 때문에 탈출구가 있다는 것만 알았어도 빠져나올 수 있었을 겁니다.

건물 밖에서 본 2층은 불길이 가득했습니다.

첫 발화 뒤 40초 만에 연기가 가득 찼고,베른하르트열폭주가 시작됐습니다.

이 1분 남짓 안에 불 끄기 실패한 노동자들은 이제 대피해야 했습니다.

불이 난 지점,베른하르트이 건너편 주로 쓰는 문을 지나야 계단이 나옵니다.

발화 지점에서 떨어진 시험실 옆 계단이 있지만 아무도 몰랐습니다.

우왕좌왕하며 불에서 멀어지려 했던 노동자들,탈출 시도도 못 한 채 발견됐습니다

이렇게 숨진 23명 가운데 18명이 외국인 노동자였습니다.

대부분 특별한 기술 없고,육체 노동하기 힘든 여성들이었습니다.

[인력사무소 직원 : 기본적인,그냥 누구나 다 할 수 있는 업무들…]

'하루 벌이' 일용직 계약이라 안전 교육도 제대로 못 받았을 가능성이 높다고 했습니다.

[정영섭/이주노조 활동가 : 정직원이 아니기 때문에 안전대책,베른하르트교육훈련 이런 측면에 있어서도 차별받거나 좋지 않은 대우를 받는 경우가 많아서…]

잠긴 문이 없었기 때문에 탈출구가 있다는 것만 알았어도 빠져 나올 수 있었습니다.

숨진 노동자들,베른하르트내부 구조조차 몰랐다는 얘기입니다.

하지만 업체 대표는 안전교육을 충분히 했다고 주장했습니다.

특히 주문이 몰렸었다는 어제,베른하르트하루 벌이 노동자들이 몰렸습니다.

그게 비극으로 돌아왔습니다.
