삼성바이오에피스는 미국 식품의약국(FDA)으로부터 자가면역질환 치료제 피즈치바(성분명 우스테키누맙)의 품목허가를 획득했다고 2일 밝혔다.이는 이 회사의 7번째 미국 허가 획득이다.

프로젝트명 SB17로 불린 피즈치바는 얀센이 만든 자가면역질환 치료제 스텔라라(Stelara)의 바이오시밀러(바이오 복제약)다.

오리지널약인 스텔라라의 연간 글로벌 매출 규모는 약 14조원(108억 5800만달러)에 달한다.면역반응에 관련된 신경 전달물질 인터루킨(IL)-12,23의 활성을 억제하는 치료 원리다.판상 건선,자격득실확인서 발급건선성 관절염,자격득실확인서 발급크론병,궤양성 대장염 등 치료에 쓰인다.

삼성바이오에피스는 이번 허가로 기존의 자가면역질환 치료제인 종양괴사인자 알파(TNF-α) 억제제 3종에 이어 인터루킨 억제제까지 미국 시장에서의 자가면역질환 치료제 포트폴리오를 보다 확장할 수 있게 됐다.

오리지널약 스텔라라를 만든 존슨앤드존슨(J&J)과의 합의에 따라 내년 2월 22일부터 미국 시장에 출시할 수 있다.삼성바이오에피스는 지난해 글로벌 바이오 제약사 산도스(Sandoz)와 피즈치바의 북미·유럽 판매를 위한 파트너십 계약을 체결했다.

한편,유럽과 한국에서는 지난 4월 허가를 받았다.국내에서는 이번 달 출시할 계획이다.
