‘마라탕후루’(마라탕 먹고 탕후루로 입가심)라는 신조어까지 만든 탕후루의 인기가 급격하게 식고 있다.

대만 카스테라,미국 도박 문제흑당 버블티 등이 반짝인기를 얻고‘버틸 수 있는’매장만 남기고 자취를 감춘 것처럼 탕후루 열풍도 1년도 못 돼 끝났다는 말이 나온다.

24일 행정안전부 지방행정인허가 데이터개방 통계 분석 결과 이달 들어 17일까지 폐업한 탕후루 가게는 34개로 하루 평균 2개꼴이었다.

지난 17일에는 강원도 속초와 경기도 부천 탕후루 가게가 문을 닫았다.

14일에는 경기도 이천에 있는 황제탕후루 매장 2곳이 동시에 폐업했다.이 프랜차이즈 업체는 아직 웹사이트에서‘매일매일 웨이팅‘정말 성공하는 아이템‘다수매장 계약 대기중’이라는 문구로 가맹점을 모집하고 있다.

13일에는 인천과 강릉에 각각 있는 달콤왕가탕후루 매장 2곳을 포함해 탕후루 가게 4곳이 폐업했다.달콤왕가탕후루 매장은 지난달부터 한 달 보름 새 10곳이 폐업했다.

폐업한 탕후루 가게는 올해 4월부터 하루 평균 1개가 넘을 만큼 많아졌다.지난 4월부터 이달 17일까지 전국에서 폐업한 탕후루 가게는 127곳에 이른다.

탕후루 인기 하락은 BC카드 전국 탕후루 가맹점 데이터 분석에서도 확인된다.BC카드의 탕후루 가맹점 매출액 지수는 지난해 9월 고점 이후 하락세다.지난 4월 매출액 지수는 전달보다 27% 하락했다.

딸기,미국 도박 문제포도,미국 도박 문제귤 등의 과일을 막대에 꽂아 끓인 설탕 코팅을 입힌 탕후루는 과도한 설탕 섭취 문제가 논란이 되기도 했다.

지난해 10월 국회 보건복지위원회 국정감사에서는 탕후루 프랜차이즈 대표가 증인으로 출석한 자리에서 탕후루 인기로 소아비만,미국 도박 문제소아당뇨 우려가 높아졌다는 지적이 제기됐다.
