토레스 EVX ⓒKG모빌리티[데일리안 = 편은지 기자] KG 모빌리티는 최근 잇따라 발생한 전기차 화재 이후 전기차 배터리에 대한 국민 불안이 확산됨에 따라 전기차 특별 안전점검을 실시한다고 14일 밝혔다.

배터리 정보공개와 관련해서는 지난해 토레스 EVX 출시 시점부터 중국 BYD 배터리를 탑재한다고 밝혀왔다.배터리 정보는 KGM 공식 홈페이지 내 차별 세부정보에서 확인할 수 있다.

KGM은 완속 충전기 화재예방을 위해 완성차 업계로는 유일하게 정부 출연 기관과 협력하여 배터리 정보제공이 가능한 차량 BMS 및 EVCC 소프트웨어 개발을 7월말 개발 완료하기도 했다.

KGM 관계자는 “실용적이며 창의적인 제품으로 안전하고 즐거운 모빌리티 경험 제공이라는 제품개발 비전을 바탕으로 안전을 최우선으로 하는 전기차 및 배터리 개발을 진행해왔으며 이러한 KGM의 고객 안전 중심의 개발방향을 통해 전기차 안전성을 강화하고 전기차에 대한 국민 불안을 해소하기 위해 최선을 다할 계획”이라고 밝혔다.
