스페이스X는 발사 후 성명을 내고 "스타링크의 팰컨9 발사 중 2단 엔진이 2차 연소를 완료하지 못했다"며 "그 결과 위성들이 의도한 것보다 낮은 궤도에 배치됐다"고 밝혔습니다.

지난 8년 동안 300회 이상 임무 성공 기록을 이어오던 팰컨 9은 이번 사고로 당분간 발사가 중단됩니다.사고 원인을 조사하고 로켓을 수리한 뒤 미 연방항공국(FAA)의 승인을 받아야 발사가 가능한데,j88 포커수주에서 수개월 걸릴 전망입니다.
