도쿄전력 "방사능 누출 없어"

[서울=뉴시스] 김예진 기자 = 일본 후쿠시마(福島) 제1 원자력발전소 6호기 원자로 사용후핵연료 냉각설비가 18일 정지됐다고 운영사 도쿄전력이 발표했다.

TV-U후쿠시마,마작대나무자리지지통신 등에 따르면 도쿄전력은 후쿠시마 제1 원전 5·6호기 중앙조작실에서 6호기에 대한 고압 주전원이 중단되면서 전력 공급이 중단됐다고 밝혔다.이 영향으로 냉각 설비가 정지했다고 했다.

도쿄전력에 따르면 이날 오전 8시 33분께 6호기 건물 내 정전이 발생하면서 냉각용 물을 보내는 펌프가 작동을 멈췄다.약 2분 후 건물 지하 1층 화재경보기까지 작동했으며 작업원이 연기가 나는 것을 확인했다.

이에 소방대가 출동했으나 화재는 확인되지 않았다.부상자도 없었다.

도쿄전력은 현재 해당 건물에 대한 출입을 금지하고 정전 등에 대한 구체적인 원인을 조사하고 있다.

특히 도쿄전력은 방사능 누출은 없다고 설명했다.

도쿄전력은 안전 확인이 끝나는 대로 냉각을 재개하겠다고 했다.

해당 건물에는 약 1400개의 사용후핵연료가 보관돼 있다.

도쿄전력은 이날 오전 10시 기자회견에서 "사용후핵연료는 충분히 냉각되고 있어 즉시 영향이 나오는 게 아니다"고 밝혔다．
