열흘 전쯤 숨진 걸로 보이는데 시신이 방치됐다가 뒤늦게 발견된 이유가 뭘까요.

정한솔 기자가 취재했습니다.

아파트 18개 동을 짓고 있는 서울 이문동 재개발 공사 현장입니다.

어제 오전 이 공사장의 아파트 17층에서 30대 중국인 노동자 서 모 씨가 숨진 채 발견됐습니다.

부패 정도로 추정했을 때 숨진 지 열흘가량 지난 걸로 보이는 상태였습니다.

"감식반 차가 2대 왔어요.그래서 저는 직감을 했죠.왜냐하면,카지노 시즌다시보기사람이 다치면 경찰차 감식이 왜 오겠어요?119가 오겠죠."

해당 공사장에서 수개월 전부터 벽돌을 쌓고 나르는 작업을 했던 서씨는 지난 3일 출근을 끝으로 연락이 끊겼습니다.

이에 지난 8일 지방에 사는 사촌동생이 경찰에 실종신고를 했습니다.

CCTV에 퇴근 모습이 찍히지 않은 것을 확인한 경찰은 지난 12일 공사장 관계자들과 현장 수색에 나섰는데 하루 만에 서 씨 시신을 찾은 겁니다.

"월요일에 (수색을) 전체적으로 했는데 안 나와서 어제(13일) 더 촘촘히 했는데 어제 나온 거죠."

지난 4일부터 일주일 동안 여름 휴가로 공사를 쉬어 공사장에 사람이 드나들지 않은데다 서 씨가 주로 혼자 작업을 했던 터라 발견이 늦어진 걸로 보입니다.

경찰은 범죄 혐의점은 찾지 못해 일단 질병에 의한 사망으로 추정하고 있습니다.

다만,카지노 시즌다시보기시공사에 따르면 서 씨가 현장에 투입되기 전 받았던 건강검진에선 특이사항은 없었던 걸로 확인됐습니다.

경찰은 국립과학수사연구원에 부검을 의뢰해 정확한 사망 원인을 조사할 방침입니다.
