유조선 충돌사고로 기름띠 발생

[헤럴드경제=김희량 기자] 태평양과 인도양을 연결하는 해상물류 거점인 싱가포르남부 항구에서 발생한 유조선 충돌사고로 인근 해변까지 기름띠 범벅이 생겼다.

15일(현지시간) 로이터,온라인 가족관계증명서블룸버그 통신 등에 따르면 싱가포르 해양항만당국(MPA)은 성명을 통해 14일 오후 2시 40분께 파시르 판장 항구에서 네덜란드 선적 준설선 '복스 막시마'가 정박해 있던 싱가포르 선적 유조선 '마린 아너'와 충돌했다고 전했다.

MPA는 이 사고로 마린 아너에 실려 있던 석유가 일부 유출됐으나 유류 탱크 연결을 차단하는 등 조처를 취해 현재는 유출이 멈춘 상태라고 밝혔다.

그러면서 석유 유출 대응선이 현장에 출동해 같은날 오후부터 석유 제거 작업에 착수했다고 했다.

그러나 15일 현재까지 항구에서 10㎞ 정도 떨어진 센토사섬의 리조트 해변에서는 파도에 밀려온 석유가 만든 검은 띠가 사라지지 않고 있다.이에 따라 주요 해변은 15일 현재 접근이 금지된 상태다.

MPA는 이번 사고에도 항행 안전이나 정박 작업 등에는 지장이 초래되지 않고 있다고 설명했다.
