서울 도심부 대기에 섞인 미세플라스틱을 분석한 결과,네이메헌 축구포장재나 각종 용기에 많이 쓰이는 '폴리에틸렌'이 가장 많았습니다.

서울시보건환경연구원은 전국 시도 보건환경연구원 가운데 최초로 대기 중 미세플라스틱을 분석한 결과 폴리에틸렌 등 8종이 확인됐다며 이같이 밝혔습니다.

대기 중 5㎛(마이크로미터) 이상의 미세플라스틱 평균 개수는 대기 1㎥당 71개였는데,12월엔 평균 122개로 늘어 가장 많았습니다.

연구원은 지난해 9월부터 올 2월까지 양재동 연구원 옥상에서 맑은 날 월 1회 시료를 포집한 뒤 시도 보건환경연구원 중 최초로 구축한 라만분광기를 활용해 미세플라스틱을 분석했습니다.

연구원은 미세플라스틱 분석 크기를 1㎛까지 확대하고 계절별 미세플라스틱 발생 특성도 파악할 계획입니다.

보건환경연구원은 그간 도심 대기 미세플라스틱 연구는 부족했다면서,네이메헌 축구대기질에 포함된 미세플라스틱 분석 방법을 표준화하고 생활밀착형 정책 수립을 위해 다양한 데이터를 확보할 계획이라고 밝혔습니다.
