화천대유 대주주 김만배 씨에게 호의적 기사를 써준 대가로 거액의 돈을 받은 전직 언론사 간부 2명에 대해 검찰이 구속영장을 청구했다.

서울중앙지검 반부패수사1부(부장검사 이준동)는 이날 김씨에게 금품을 수수한 전직 한겨레 간부 A씨와 중앙일보 간부 B씨에 대해 배임수재 및 청탁금지법 위반 혐의로 구속영장을 청구했다.

두 사람은 김씨에게서 대장동 개발사업과 관련해 유리한 기사가 보도될 수 있도록 해달라는 부정한 청탁을 받고 금품을 수수한 혐의를 받는다.2019년 5월부터 이듬해 8월까지 A씨는 총 8억9000만원,아시안컵 차B씨는 2019년 4월부터 2년4개월 동안 총 2억100만원을 받은 것으로 조사됐다.

김씨에게서 1억원을 수수한 혐의로 검찰 수사 대상에 올랐던 전직 한국일보 간부 C씨는 지난달 사망해 사건이 종결됐다.검찰은 최근 윤석열 대통령의 명예를 훼손하는 허위 보도를 주도한 김씨와 신학림 전 전국언론노조위원장을 재판에 넘긴 바 있다.검찰은 김씨가 다른 언론사에도 부당한 영향력을 행사했는지를 조사할 방침이다.
