8일 중국 신화통신은 둥팅호 제방이 이날 저녁 10시31분(현지시각) 기준 복구가 완료됐다고 보도했다.

앞서 당국은 9일 정오까지 복구 작업을 마칠 계획을 세웠는데 이런 계획을 13시간 넘게 앞당긴 것이자 제방이 무너진 지 약 79시간 만이다.

지난 5일 오후 5시48분께 후난성 웨양시 화룽현 둥팅호 제방 일부가 폭우로 터졌다.

당초 붕괴한 제방 길이는 약 10ｍ였으나 같은 날 오후 9시께 100ｍ로 확대됐다.

모래와 자갈 5만t과 트럭 18대가 붕괴를 막는데 동원됐지만,니코의 넥스트봇 월드컵6일 12시 기준 붕괴 범위는 약 226ｍ로 확대됐다.5m 깊이로 47.64㎢의 면적이 물에 잠겼다.

다행히 당국이 인근 주민 7680명을 긴급 대피시켜 인명 피해는 없었다.

당시 타지키스탄을 국빈 방문 중인 시진핑 국가주석은 제방 붕괴 소식을 듣고 주민 생명과 재산 보호에 만전을 다할 것을 지시했다.

리창 국무원 총리도 ”각 지역 정부는 긴장을 늦추지 말고 구조 작업에 최선을 다해야 한다“고 촉구했다.
