13일 업계에 따르면 유튜브 채널‘MZ전자’를 운영하는 최정현 LG전자 선임은 지난 7일 기부 키오스크로 월급 300만원을 기부하는 영상을 올렸다.

최 선임은 앞서 지난달 4일 구독자 1명당 1000원 기부를 약속하는 영상을 게시했다.영상을 올릴 때만 해도 38명뿐이었던 채널 구독자는 이후 폭발적으로 증가해 1만3000명을 넘겼다.

LG전자는 1000만원 이상을 기부해야 하는 최 선임의 상황이 알려지자 임원 사회공헌기금 1000만원을 지원했다.해당 기금은 LG전자 임원들이 국내외 사회공헌을 위해 자발적으로 참여하고 있다.

최 선임은 “임직원이 간편하게 기부할 수 있는 기부 키오스크를 소개하고자 올린 영상이 이렇게 큰 관심을 끌 줄 몰랐다”며 “좋은 취지로 시작한 캠페인이 한 직원의 부담으로 돌아가지 않도록 회사가 도움을 줬다”고 말했다.

LG전자는 지난 6월 일상에서 기부문화를 확산하기 위해 임직원이 쉽고 편하게 나눔 활동을 실천할 수 있는 기부 키오스크를 설치했다.

키오스크 화면에는 위기가정이나 결식아동,프리미어리그 생방송다친 소방관 등의 사연과 사용 계획 등이 안내되며,프리미어리그 생방송임직원은 사원증을 키오스크에 접촉한 뒤 횟수 제한 없이 기부할 수 있다.
