모태펀드에서 1500억원 출자

1일 중기부가 발표한 2024년 글로벌펀드 운용 해외 벤처캐피탈 선정 결과 총 15곳이 이름을 올렸다.

올해 출자사업은 역대 최대인 1500억원 규모로 진행됐다.사업에는 세계 정상급 벤처캐피탈을 포함해 80개사가 지원,역대 가장 높은 약 8대1의 경쟁률을 기록했다.지역별로는 미국 5개,싱가포르 3개,상봉역 로또영국 2개,일본 2개,중국(홍콩 포함) 2개,UAE 1개 등이 뽑혔다.

이번 출자사업에서는 오영주 장관 취임 이후 글로벌펀드 참여를 희망한 국내 투자사들의 요청을 반영,'해외 벤처캐피탈-국내 벤처캐피탈' 공동 운영(Co-GP) 트랙이 신설됐다.이를 통해 3곳의 국내 벤처캐피탈도 함께 이름을 올렸다.

서드 프라임 캐피탈(미국),아마데우스(영국),글로벌 브레인(일본),CICC(중국) 등 글로벌 대형 투자사들도 참여해 추가적인 투자 효과 또한 기대된다.

글로벌펀드는 그간 598개 국내기업에 1조2000억원을 투자,모태펀드 출자액 7000억원 대비 1.7배의 투자를 집행했다.중기부에 따르면 대부분의 펀드들이 현재 운용 중이다.

비바리퍼블리카,우아한형제들,당근마켓,몰로코 등은 글로벌펀드 투자를 통해 큰 성공을 거뒀다.최근에는 고피자,마이리얼트립,앨리스 등 스타트업들이 글로벌펀드로부터 투자를 유치,대규모 후속투자와 활발한 글로벌 진출을 꾀하고 있다.

오 장관은 "글로벌펀드는 국내 유니콘 탄생에 큰 역할을 하며,상봉역 로또국내 스타트업과 해외 투자자를 연결하는 핵심역할을 수행해왔다.글로벌펀드의 투자는 스타트업 입장에서 투자유치 효과 뿐만 아니라 글로벌 투자사들의 네트워크와 연결된다는 점에서 커다란 기회가 된다"며 "향후에도 매년 1조원 이상의 글로벌펀드 조성을 통해 우리 벤처·스타트업의 해외투자 유치와 글로벌진출을 전폭적으로 지원하겠다"고 밝혔다.
