김포골드라인 열차가 28일 증차됐다.이날 1편성 투입을 시작으로 9월30일까지 5편성이 추가 투입될 예정이다.

김포골드라인은 신도시 개발 등으로 김포 유입인구가 급증하면서 전국 최대 혼잡률을 기록하며 인명사고의 위험이 급상승했다.이에 따라 김포시는 김병수 시장을 직원들이 중앙부처와 국회를 찾아다니며 골드라인 증차 사업에 대해 적극적으로 설명하고 재정지원을 요청했다.그 결과 정부에서도 심각성을 인지하고,선우용녀 맞고올해 국회 정부예산안에 반영해 증차 사업비 153억을 지원하기로 했다.

이날 김포골드라인 증편식에 참석한 박상우 국토부 장관은 "정부와 자자체는 시민에게 안전하고 편리한 대중교통서비스를 제공할 책무가 있다"며 "앞으로도 김포시민의 출퇴근길이 안전하고 편리하도록 모든 노력을 기울이겠다"고 밝혔다.

김병수 시장은 "골드라인 혼잡관리를 위해 전방위적으로 노력해 준 국토부와 서울시,경기도 등 관계기관에 감사드린다"며 "마련된 단기대책들이 원활히 추진되고 시민들에게 호응받을 수 있도록 시에서 최선을 다하겠다"고 인사를 전했다.이어 "단기대책은 결코 궁극적인 해결방안이 될 수 없으며,5호선 등 철도망 확충을 통해 시민들의 출퇴근길 고통을 덜어드리도록 하겠다"고 의지를 밝혔다.
