이번 화재로 인해 리튬 배터리가 들어간 제품에 대해서도 우려가 커지고 있습니다.

특히 최근 전기차 화재가 늘면서 소비자 불안이 잇따르고 있는데요.

전기차 화재의 특성과 대응 방법을 김지숙 기자가 취재했습니다.

[리포트]

화재로 인해 거의 뼈대만 남은 차량 밑으로 물을 뿌려댑니다.

전기차 배터리 쪽에서 불이 계속 되면서 완전 진화까지 3시간 가까이 걸렸습니다.

리튬이온배터리 화재는 물,1 회 로또 당첨 번호그것도 아주 많은 물로 빠르게 냉각시키는 것 외엔 현재까지 마땅한 진화 방법이 없습니다.

이 방법이라면 불이 난 전기차를 수조에 빠트리는 것이 가장 확실하지만,제약 조건이 많습니다.

[윤여송/한국기술교육대학교 안전환경공학과 교수 : "전기차에다 싣고 다닐 수도 없잖아요.이동용 수조를 가지고 가서 진압을 해야 되는데 어렵죠.(설치할)지하 공간도 없을 뿐더러…"]

배터리가 설치돼 있는 차량 바닥면에 노즐을 넣어 많은 양의 물을 뿌리는 것이 초기 진압에 적합하다고 평가되지만 아직 규격화 돼있지 않습니다.

불난 차에 덮어 화재 확산을 조기에 막을 수 있는 질식 소화포가 일부 지역에선 권고되고 있지만 진압보단 확산 방지 측면이 큽니다.

[최현호/한국화재감식학회 기술위원장 : "법적으로 질식 소화포를 배치해서 초기에 운전자나 또는 주변에 있는 사람이 덮어서 피해를 줄일 수 있는 소방 활동 장비로서 꼭 필요하다고 말씀드릴 수 있습니다."]

전기차 보급이 늘면서 전기차 화재도 늘고 있는 상황.

전문가들은 전기차에 화재가 났을 경우 진화보다는 대피가 우선이라고 조언합니다.
