검찰이 지난 대선 과정에서 대장동 사건과 관련해 이뤄진 '허위 인터뷰 의혹' 수사와 관련해 화천대유자산관리 대주주 김만배 씨와 전 언론노조위원장 신학림 씨의 신병 확보에 나섰다.
17일 법조계에 따르면,수원 수영장서울중앙지검 반부패수사1부는 정보통신망법상 명예훼손,수원 수영장배임수·증재,수원 수영장청탁금지법위반,수원 수영장범죄수익은닉규제법 위반 및 공갈 혐의로 김 씨와 신 씨에게 구속영장을 청구했다.
김 씨는 2021년 9월 15일 당시 뉴스타파 전문위원이던 신 씨와 '윤석열 대통령이 대검찰청 중앙수사부에서 부산저축은행 사건을 수사할 때 대장동 대출 브로커 조우형 씨 사건을 덮어줬다'는 취지의 인터뷰를 했다.뉴스타파는 이를 대선 사흘 전인 2022년 3월 6일 보도했다.
김 씨는 허위보도 대가로 인터뷰 닷새 뒤인 2021년 9월 20일,수원 수영장신 씨에게 1억 6500만 원을 수수하고 이를 책 3권 값으로 위장했다는 게 검찰 측 설명이다.
