(파주=연합뉴스) 노승혁 기자 = 경기 파주시는 75세 이상 운전자가 자동차 운전면허를 자진 반납할 경우 지급하는 인센티브를 10만원에서 30만원으로 올린 결과 자진 반납이 크게 늘었다고 9일 밝혔다.

지난해까지 65세 이상 고령 운전자에게 최초 1회에 한해 10만 원의 지역화폐(파주페이)를 지급했던 파주시는 올해부터는 75세 이상이 반납할 경우 30만원으로 상향했다.65∼74세가 반납할 경우에는 지난해와 마찬가지로 10만원이다.

고령 운전자로 인한 교통사고 예방에 선제적으로 대응하기 위해 교통사고율이 급증하는 75세 이상의 자진 반납을 유도하기 위한 조치였다.

그 결과 올해 상반기에 운전면허를 반납한 75세 이상 고령자는 모두 412명으로,썬라이즈 카지노지난해 상반기(304명)보다 35.5% 늘었다.
