외국인 결제 늘자 편의 높여편의점 CU를 운영하는 BGF리테일은 일본 포인트 운영사 로열티마케팅과 업무협약(MOU)을 맺고 폰타 포인트를 결제 수단으로 도입한다고 14일 발표했다.외국인 소비자의 쇼핑·관광 편의를 높이기 위해서다.

폰타 포인트는 일본 유명 편의점 로손 등 30만여 개 매장에서 적립해 쓸 수 있는 대표 멤버십 서비스다.1억 명이 넘는 회원을 보유했다.일본뿐만 아니라 미국 하와이,파리 도르트문트 평점대만,파리 도르트문트 평점베트남 등에서도 사용한다.

BGF리테일은 전국 1만8000여 개 CU 점포에서 폰타 포인트를 쓸 수 있도록 결제 시스템을 도입할 계획이다.아울러 CU 자사 앱인‘포켓CU’회원이 일본에서 폰타 포인트를 적립하고 사용할 수 있게 할 예정이다.CU 포인트와 폰타 포인트를 교환할 수 있는 제휴 포인트 전환 서비스도 검토하고 있다.

CU가 이 같은 서비스를 시작하는 이유는 외국인 고객이 늘고 있기 때문이다.CU의 올해(1~6월) 해외 결제 이용 건수는 전년 동기 대비 150% 증가했다.

송지택 BGF리테일 혁신부문장은 “외국인 고객의 결제 편의를 높이기 위해 여러 프로모션을 선보일 계획”이라고 말했다.
