이렇게 집단 휴진을 강행한 의사들은 오늘(18일) 서울 여의도에서 대규모 집회를 열고 의대 증원 철회를 주장했습니다.

의사협회는 이 요구가 수용되지 않으면 오는 27일부터 무기한 휴진에 들어가겠다고 예고했습니다.

의대 증원에 반발해 집단 휴진을 강행한 의사들이 서울 여의도공원에 모였습니다.

지난 3월에 이어 3달 만에 다시 열린 대규모 집회입니다.

[김창수/전국의과대학교수협의회 회장 : "의대 증원은 절대 필수의료 살릴 수 없어.과학적 사실이 이미 증명.그럼에도 무시하고 의료농단을 마치 의료개혁으로 둔갑하여."]

대한의사협회가 내건 요구사항은 의대 증원안 재논의와 필수의료 패키지의 쟁점 사안의 수정 보완 등 모두 3가지.

임현택 의협 회장은 "정부가 자신들의 요구를 받아들이지 않을 경우 오는 27일부터 무기한 휴진에 돌입하겠다"고 밝혔습니다.

[임현택/대한의사협회 회장 : "전공의와 의대생 대한 부당한 탄압을 즉각 멈추어줄 것을 요구합니다.정부가 받아들이지 않을 경우 우리는 오는 27일부터 무기한 휴진에 들어갈 것입니다."]

임 회장은 또 "전국의 전공의들이 의료현장을 떠난 지 4달이 넘었다"며,카지노 책"의사를 생명을 살리는 전문가로 존중하고 목소리에 귀기울여줄 것"을 촉구했습니다.

당초 의협이 신고한 집회 참가자는 의사와 전공의,의대생 등 2만 명.

경찰은 오늘 집회에 최대 만 2천 명이 참석했다고 밝혔습니다.

참가자들은 약 두 시간 동안 집회를 가진 뒤 가두 행진을 벌였습니다.

한편,한국중증질환연합회는 성명을 통해 "의사들이 불법 집단 휴진으로 히포크라테스 선서를 내팽개쳤다"며 "불법행위를 법대로 처리하라"고 요구했습니다.
