아시아 소재 2개 선사로부터 5만t급 석유화학제품운반선 2척,7만5000t 급 4척 건조 계약을 체결한 것이다.

이번 수주는 연간 수주 목표액의 33%에 해당하며,이로써 올해 수주 목표액 59%를 달성했다.

케이조선은 이번 계약에 선가와 고객 측면에서 특별한 의미를 부여하고 있다.

주력 선종인 중형 석유화학제품운반선에 대해 기존 계약 대비 매우 높은 선가로 계약을 맺었다는 점과 기존 고객층을 벗어나 새로운 고객군을 확보했다는 점에서 그렇다.

이러한 성과는 조선 시장의 호황세와 케이조선의 자체 경쟁력,2019년 8월 21일 야구 경기일정그리고 최근 정부와 금융권이 협력해 조선업 RG(선수금 환급보증) 발급을 확대해준 것도 큰 도움이 됐다고 회사 측은 강조했다.

실제로 이번에 수주한 선박의 RG 발급에 KDB산업은행과 시중은행이 참여할 예정이다.

계약한 선박은 LNG,메탄올,암모니아 등 친환경 연료 추진선으로 쉽게 전환될 수 있도록 기술적으로 미래 친환경 조건에 부함되게 건조한다.

또한 지속적으로 강화되고 있는 국제해사기구(IMO) 환경규제 기준을 적용하여 EEDI(Energy Efficiency Design Index) Phase 3 지수를 만족한다.

케이조선은 이번 수주를 통해 올해 11척 8600억원 규모의 선박을 수주했으며,2019년 8월 21일 야구 경기일정수주 잔량을 37척까지 늘렸다.

계열사인 대한조선 역시 올해 6척 9300억원을 수주해,두 조선소의 수주 잔량 합계는 66척 6조원으로 중형 조선산업의 황금기를 여는 쌍두마차 역할을 하고 있다.
