서울시교육청 본관자립형사립고(자사고)인 이화여자대학교 사범대학부속 이화금란고등학교(이대부고)가 일반고 전환을 신청했다.

전환이 확정되면 이대부고는 서울교육청 관내 자사고 중 11번째 자발적 일반고 전환 사례가 된다.앞서 △동양고(2012) △용문고(2013) △미림여고·우신고(2016) △대성고(2019) △경문고(2020) △동성고·숭문고·한가람고(2022) △장훈고(2023) 가 이미 일반고로 전환한 바 있다.일부는 학령인구가 감소하고 신입생 지원이 줄어드는 상황에서 일반고 전환을 신청한 것으로 알려졌다.

시교육청은 이대부고의 안정적인 일반고 전환을 위해 학교,부산경마공원가을축제학부모,부산경마공원가을축제교육청이 참여하는 '일반고 전환 협의체'를 구성하고 전환기 때 발생할 부작용을 최소화할 교육과정을 운영할 수 있게 지원할 예정이다.자사고가 일반고로 전환하면 2년간 총 25억(교육부 15억,부산경마공원가을축제교육청 10억)을 지원받을 수 있다.

조희연 서울시교육감은 "서열화된 고교체제를 수평적이고 다양한 고교체제로 전환해 학생 맞춤형 교육이 이뤄지도록 노력할 것"이라고 밝혔다.
