삼성SDI가 성균관대에 배터리 전문 인력 양성을 위한 '배터리공학과'를 만든다.이 학과는 2026년부터 신입생을 뽑는다.

삼성SDI는 11일 경기 수원시 성균관대 자연과학캠퍼스에서 성균관대와 '배터리공학과 설치 협약식'을 했다고 12일 밝혔다

배터리공학과는 채용 연계형 계약학과로 공대 학사 4년제 과정으로 운영한다.성균관대는 2026년부터 10년 동안 해마다 30명 규모의 신입생을 뽑을 계획이다.학과생들에게는 배터리 소재부터 셀,모듈,팩까지 맞춤 교육을 제공한다.해당 학과를 졸업하면 삼성SDI 입사 혜택이 주어진다.

이번 배터리공학과 신설은 전 세계에서 전기차 시장을 중심으로 급성장하고 있는 배터리 분야를 선도할 전문 인력을 키우고 국가 핵심 전략 산업 인재 양성에 동참하기 위한 것이란 설명이다.

최윤호 삼성SDI 대표이사 사장은 "우수 인재 확보와 양성은 삼성SDI의 미래 경쟁력"이라며 "이번 협약을 통해 배터리 시장을 리드할 수 있는 핵심 인재를 확보해 글로벌 톱티어 회사로서 초격차 기술 경쟁력을 확고히 하겠다"고 말했다.

유지범 성균관대 총장은 "배터리 기술의 중요성이 나날이 커지는 흐름 속에서 성균관대와 삼성SDI는 상호 신뢰와 협력을 바탕으로 지속 발전을 도모할 것"이라고 밝혔다.

삼성SDI는 2021년부터 포항공대(포스텍),서울대,라운드 카지노한국과학기술원(KAIST),한양대,라운드 카지노성균관대,라운드 카지노울산과학기술원(UNIST) 등과 배터리 우수 인재 양성 과정을 운영 중이며 향후 배터리 계약학과를 확대할 계획이라고 덧붙였다.
