'술자리 폭행' 사건으로 메이저리거 김하성(29·샌디에이고 파드리스)에게 거액을 뜯어낸 혐의를 받는 전 야구선수 임혜동(28) 씨가 오늘(4일) 구속 전 피의자 심문(영장실질심사)을 받았습니다.

임 씨는 오늘 오전 10시 10분쯤 영장실질심사가 열리는 서울중앙지법에 출석했습니다.

임 씨는 취재진이 기다리는 출입구가 아닌 다른 출입구로 법원에 들어간 것으로 파악됐습니다.

경찰은 지난달 26일 임 씨에게 공갈과 공갈미수 혐의를 적용해 구속영장을 다시 신청했습니다.

앞서 경찰은 지난 1월 임 씨에 대해 구속영장을 신청했으나 법원은 "추가 소명이 필요하다"며 기각한 바 있습니다.

경찰에 따르면 임 씨는 2021년 2월 서울 강남의 한 술집에서 김 씨와 술을 마시다 몸싸움을 벌인 뒤 이를 빌미로 합의금 명목으로 두 차례에 걸쳐 4억 원을 받아낸 혐의를 받습니다.

당시 임 씨는 김 씨가 소속된 에이전시에서 매니저로 일하고 있었습니다.

임 씨는 이후에도 김 씨에게 추가로 돈을 요구했으나 김 씨가 이를 거부한 것으로 알려졌습니다.

임 씨가 류현진(37·한화이글스)으로부터 비슷한 수법으로 수억 원을 뜯어낸 혐의는 지난 1월 구속영장에는 포함됐으나 이번에는 빠졌습니다.

범행을 공모한 혐의(공갈)를 받는 에이전시 팀장 박 모 씨도 오늘 영장실질심사를 받습니다.

임 씨 등의 구속 여부는 이르면 오늘 오후 결정될 것으로 보입니다.
