최저임금위원회(최임위)가 2일 내년도 최저임금과 관련해 모든 업종에 대해 동일한 금액을 적용하기로 결정했다.

이인재 최임위 위원장은 이날 오후 정부세종청사에서 열린 제7차 전원회의에서 최저임금의 사업의 종류별 구분 여부를 표결에 부쳤다.표결 결과 △찬성 11표 △반대 15표 △무효 1표로 최임위는 지난해와 마찬가지로 모든 업종에 같은 최저임금을 적용하기로 결정했다.

최임위는 향후 회의에서 단일 적용에 따른 최저임금 수준을 결정한다.현재까지 노사 양측은 최초제시안을 제출하지 않았다.이듬해 최저임금을 정하기 위한 법정기한이 지난달 27일로 지난 만큼 최임위는 노사 양측의 최저임금 제시안을 받아 결정할 예정이다.노사 양측의 의견차가 클 경우 공익위원 중재를 거쳐 최저임금 수준을 정한다.

공익위원이 내놓을 중재안에도 관심이 쏠린다.지난해에는 올해 1~4월 사업체 노동력조사 상 300인 미만 사업체 전체 근로자의 임금 총액 상승률과 기획재정부와 한국은행 등의 평균물가상승률과 생계비 개선분을 반영했다.노동계가 '경제성장률+소비자물가상승률-취업자 증가율'이라는 산식으로 최저임금을 결정했던 방식에 수차례 문제를 제기한 영향이다.

지난해의 경우 노동계측은 최초 1만2210원(26.9%) 인상안을 제출했다.사용자측은 9620원 동결을 주장했다.양측은 접점을 찾지 못하다 전년대비 240원(2.5%) 오른 9860원을 표결에 부쳐 통과됐다.

올해는 1.4%만 오르면 1만원을 넘게된다.최근 6년간 최저임금 인상률은 △2019년 8350원(10.9%) △2020년 8590원(2.87%) △2021년 8720원(1.5%) △2022년 9160원(5.05%) △2023년 9620원(5.0%) △2024년 9860원(2.5%)이다.
