9일 법조계에 따르면 서울동부지검은 특정경제범죄법 위반(수재),챔피언쉽리그 순위전자금융거래법 위반(방조),은행법 위반,챔피언쉽리그 순위금융실명법 위반 혐의로 기소된 은행원 A씨의 사건을 심리한 서울동부지법에 항소장을 제출했다.앞서 검찰은 지난 5월29일 열린 결심공판에서 A씨에게 징역 3년을 구형한 바 있다.

A씨는 2022년 1~8월께 대포통장 유통조직의 총책이 계좌 만드는 것을 돕고 그 대가로 해당 조직 총책을 자신의 실적과 관련된 금융상품에 가입시킨 혐의를 받는다.

또 보이스피싱 사고계좌의 거래정지를 해제하기 위해 피해자들의 연락처를 조직 총책에게 알려준 것으로 조사됐다.

검찰은 "금융기관 임직원의 공공적 성격에 정면으로 반하는 중한 범죄인 점을 고려할 때 보다 무거운 형의 선고가 필요하다"고 항소 이유를 밝혔다.

이어 "현직 은행원이 대포통장 개설과 사고계좌의 거래정지 해제를 도와 보이스피싱 조직의 활동에 필수 불가결한 역할을 했다"며 "항소심에서 피고인 죄질에 부합하는 형이 선고될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
