표준연,검정린넨바지대전시·LG전자 등과 양자컴퓨팅 소부장 육성 협약

(대전=연합뉴스) 박주영 기자 = 한국표준과학연구원은 3일 대전 본원에서 양자컴퓨팅 소부장(소재·부품·장비) 산업 육성을 위한 '양자컴퓨팅 소부장 스케일업 밸리 협의체'를 출범하고 업무협약(MOU)을 했다.

협약에는 대전시와 과학기술연결플랫폼사회적협동조합,MKS 등 18개 제조기업,LG전자 등 국내외 수요기업,검정린넨바지벤처캐피털 등 28개 기관이 참여했다.

양자기술은 원자나 전자 단위 미시 세계에서 나타나는 양자역학적 특성을 컴퓨팅,검정린넨바지통신,검정린넨바지센서 등에 접목하는 기술로,산업 생태계 판도를 뒤집을 '게임체인저'로 불린다.

표준연은 올해 초 자체 기술로 개발한 20큐비트(qubit·양자컴퓨터 연산단위)급 성능 양자컴퓨팅을 성공적으로 시연했다.2026년까지 50큐비트급 양자컴퓨팅 구현을 목표로 연구를 진행 중이다.

그러나 현재 양자컴퓨팅 부품의 95%를 수입에 의존하고 있어 독자적인 소부장 기술 개발과 공급망 확보가 요구되고 있다.

협약 참여 기관들은 대전에 '양자컴퓨팅 소부장 스케일업(Scale-up,검정린넨바지규모 확대) 밸리'를 구축할 예정이다.

소부장 산업 육성을 위한 혁신 클러스터로,기술·인력·자본을 집적해 기업 투자에서부터 기초 연구,개발,상용화까지 지원한다.

주관기관인 표준연은 국내 최고 수준의 양자 연구인력과 축적된 기술력을 바탕으로 소부장 기업에 원천기술을 이전하고 안정적인 사업화를 위한 실증 테스트베드 역할을 할 예정이다.

이호성 표준연 원장은 "양자 패권 전쟁에서 경쟁력을 갖추기 위해서는 '퀀텀(양자) 엔지니어링' 기술을 확보하는 것이 중요하다"며 "산학연의 우수한 연구역량을 융합해 양자 산업의 신성장 동력을 창출할 수 있길 기대한다"고 말했다.
