KBS가 제79주년 광복절 0시에 일본 국가 '기미가요'가 흘러나오는 오페라를 편성해 논란이 되자,KBS 측이 "제작진 불찰"이라며 사과했습니다.

KBS는 "먼저,1000원 지폐공연 예술 녹화 중계 프로그램인 'KBS 중계석' 프로그램과 관련해 시청자들께 우려와 실망을 끼쳐 사과드린다"며 고개를 숙였습니다.

그러면서 "당초 6월 29일 공연이 녹화됐고,7월 말에 방송할 예정이었지만 올림픽 중계로 뒤로 밀리면서 광복절 새벽에 방송되게 됐다"고 해명했습니다.

이어 "바뀐 일정을 고려해 방송 내용에 문제는 없는지,시의성은 적절한지 정확히 확인,1000원 지폐검토하지 못한 제작진 불찰로 뜻깊은 광복절에 물의를 일으킨 것에 대해 다시 한번 깊이 사과드린다"고 밝혔습니다.

또 "앞으로 이런 일이 다시 생기지 않도록 방송 경위를 진상 조사해 합당한 책임을 묻는 등 제작에 더욱 주의를 기울이겠다"며 "오늘 밤 방송 예정이었던 '나비부인 2부'는 다른 공연 방송으로 대체하기로 했다"고 덧붙였습니다.

그러나 이번 논란에 대해 이재명 더불어민주당 전 대표는 "하필 광복절에 기미가요냐"며 "제 정신을 잃었거나,1000원 지폐의도를 가진 도발이겠지요"라고 비판했습니다.

그러면서 "독도 방어훈련 실종,1000원 지폐독도 조형물 철거,일본해 표기 방치 등 셀 수조차 없는 독도 침탈 방치와 동조는 국토 참절 행위"라며 "지하의 독립투사들이 통탄할 일"이라고 주장했습니다.

이번 논란과 관련해 KBS 홈페이지에는 "광복절에 기모노 방송,진짜 미친 건가 싶다"는 시청자 청원이 올라와 현재까지 1만 명이 넘는 동의를 받았습니다.

KBS 시청자 청원은 1천 명 이상 동의하면 KBS 관련 부서에서 의무적으로 답변을 내놓게 돼 있습니다.

이런 가운데 오늘 오전 9시 55분 KBS에서 방송한 일기예보에서도 좌우가 반전된 태극기가 그래픽으로 사용돼 또 논란이 되고 있습니다.

이에 SNS 등에서는 "국민의 수신료를 받는 공영방송이 광복절에 기미가요를 튼 것도 모자라 태극기까지 거꾸로 내냐"며 "가지가지 한다"는 반응이 나오고 있습니다.
