육군 12사단에서 훈련병이 얼차려 중 사망한 사건에 대해 경찰이 수사 대상자들에 구속영장을 신청했습니다.

강원경찰청 훈련병 사망사건 수사전담팀은 18일 업무상과실치사와 직권남용가혹행위 혐의로 중대장과 부중대장에 대해 구속영장을 신청했습니다.

경찰의 구속영장 신청은 사건 발생 26일이 지나 이뤄졌고,지난 13일 첫 피의자 조사를 진행한 지 닷새 만입니다.

피의자들은 강원도 인제군 12사단 신병교육대에서 규정을 위반해 군기 훈련을 실시했고 사고 방지 의무를 게을리해 1명을 숨지게 한 혐의를 받습니다.

피의자들은 경찰 조사에서 훈련병들의 증언에 대해 일부 부인한 것으로 알려졌습니다.

앞서 지난달 23일 오후 5시 20분쯤 12사단 신병교육대에서 군기 훈련을 받던 훈련병 1명이 쓰러졌습니다.

훈련병은 곧바로 민간병원으로 옮겨졌지만 상태는 악화됐고,721회 로또이튿날 숨졌습니다.

군인권센터는 훈련병의 사인을 분석한 결과 패혈성 쇼크에 따른 다발성장기부전이 원인이라고 밝혔습니다.

한편,721회 로또육군은 피의자들이 완전군장 상태에서 구보나 팔굽혀펴기를 시킬 수 없다는 관련 규정을 어긴 것으로 보고 지난달 28일 강원경찰청에 사건을 넘겼습니다.
