지난 8일 밤부터 10일 오전까지 거창군에 181㎜의 비가 내리는 등 집중 호우가 계속되는 가운데 다리 상판이 심하게 휘고 차량이 침수된 듯한 괴 사진이 유포돼 비상이 걸렸다.

거창경찰서는 10일 오전 밤새 내린 비로 '거창교 안전에 이상이 있는 것 같다'는 신고를 받고 오전 9시께 거창교를 통제했다.경찰과 거창군은 긴급 안전 점검을 벌였으나 교량 안전에 이상이 없다는 결론을 내리고 오전 11시께 교통 통제를 해제했다.

이날 소동은 사회관계망서비스에 떠돌던 거창교 사진을 보고 한 주민이 경찰에 신고하면서 시작됐다.거창군을 떠들썩하게 만든 사진은 거창교 상판 일부가 내려앉은 채 다리 구조물 일부가 파손돼 있어 교량 붕괴가 의심되는 상황이다.

문제의 사진은 10일 오전 거창군의회 소속 한 의원의 카카오톡 단체 대화방에 공유된 것으로 알려졌다.이를 거창지역 한 언론인이 550여명이 모인 자신의 사회관계망서비스에 퍼 나르면서 확산했다.

기자가 카카오톡 단체 대화방에 공유된 내용을 확인하기 위해 전화를 걸었지만 거창군의회 모 군의원은 전화를 받지 않았다.

한편 거창지역에는 9일 밤부터 10일 오전까지 평균 강우량이 115.9㎜에 육박하는 등 집중호우가 계속되면서 고제면의 한 주택 담벼락이 무너지고,앙리 커리어강변에 주차한 캠핑카가 물에 잠기는 등 피해가 났다.
