(서울=뉴스1) 권혜정 기자 = 서울시는 민선8기 후반기 서울시 대외협력 업무를 총괄한 정무부시장에 김병민 전 국민의힘 최고위원을 내정했다고 17일 밝혔다.

서울시 정무부시장은 시장을 보좌해 국회·시의회 및 언론·정당과 서울시의 업무를 협의·조정하는 직위로,랭스치과시장이 임명하는 차관급 정무직공무원이다.

김병민 정무부시장 내정자는 경희대학교 경제통상학부를 졸업해 동 대학교 대학원 경영학 석사·행정학 박사를 취득했다.이후 2023년 국민의힘 최고위원,랭스치과2022년 대통령선거 국민의힘 대변인을 수행하는 등 언론 대응에 정통하며 서민과의 소통능력이 강점으로 꼽힌다.

서울시는 현재 김병민 정무부시장 내정자에 대한 인사검증 절차를 진행 중이다.절차가 완료되면 7월 1일자로 임명할 계획이다.
