이상훈 에이비엘바이오 대표는 오늘(3일) 온라인 간담회를 통해 신약 개발 사업의 패러다임 전환을 위한 '비전 ABL 2.0'을 발표하고 올해 최소 1건 이상의 기술이전이 벌어질 것이라고 밝혔습니다.

이상훈 대표는 "ABL001 등 기존 기술이전된 신약에서 영구적 현금흐름을 창출할 것으로 기대한다"며 "1천400억원의 유상증자를 통해 내년까지 4천억원의 자금흐름을 만들어낼 것"이라고 강조했습니다.

에이비엘바이오의 비전 2.0은 기존의 비임상 신약 후보물질 기술수출에서 벗어나 중기나 후기 임상단계에서 기술이전을 시도하고,이중항체 ADC 시장에 본격적으로 뛰어드는 전략을 골자로 합니다.

이 대표는 "비임상 단계 기술이전은 현금흐름이 불확실했던 문제가 있었다"며 "임상 결과에 기반한 기술이전으로 마일스톤과 계약금 규모가 커질 것으로 기대한다"고 말했습니다.

ADC는 암세포를 추적하는 물질인 항체와 강한 독성 물질을 연결한 약물로,at마드리드암세포에만 강한 독성을 발휘하기 때문에 이전 세대 치료제보다 높은 성과를 거두고 있습니다.

이중항체 ADC는 암세포를 따라다니는 항체가 두 개인 약물로,세포에 더 많은 약물을 침투시키며 더 적은 독성을 보인다는 게 이 대표의 설명입니다.

에이비엘바이오는 총 3가지(ABL206,ABL209,ABL210)의 이중항체를 확보했는데,이를 ADC로 만들어 내년까지 미국에 임상 1상 실험계획서를 제출하겠다는 계획입니다.

이 대표는 "이미 미국에 ABL바이오 USA를 설립했고,at마드리드ADC 전문 인력 영입을 준비하고 있다"며 "임상 위주의 회사를 만들어 유상증자로 확보한 자금을 ADC 개발로만 사용하려고 한다"고 전했습니다.

에이벨바이오는 앞서 KDB산업은행과 에이티넘인베스트먼트,인터베스트와 하나금융그룹,컴퍼니케이파트너스 등을 대상으로 상환 의무가 없는 전환우선주 약 580만주를 발행하는 유상증자를 시행한다고 밝힌 바 있습니다.
