더위 속에서 지난 12일 오후 총수요 기준 최대전력이 역대 최대치를 기록한 것으로 추정됐습니다.

오늘(13일) 전력거래소에 따르면 전날 오후 2∼3시 전력시장 안팎 수요를 합친 총수요는 역대 최대인 102.327GW(기가와트)로 기존 최대인 작년 8월 7일(100.571GW)의 기록을 경신한 것으로 추산됐습니다.

총수요란 공식 집계되는 전력시장 내 수요에 태양광이 대부분인 한전 직접구매계약(PPA),토토 요르단 한국소규모 자가용 태양광 발전 등 전력시장 밖 수요까지 모두 합친 것을 말합니다.

전력시장 외부의 태양광 등 신재생에너지 발전 설비 규모가 커짐에 따라 수년 전부터 국내에서 실제 사용되는 전력 사용량을 가늠하려면 시장 내 수요뿐만 아니라 시장 외부의 수요까지 고려해야 하는 상황입니다.

누적 태양광 발전 설비용량은 24.3GW(2022년 기준)에 달하는데 이 중 약 3분의 1만 전력시장에 들어와 있고,토토 요르단 한국나머지 약 3분의 2가 전력시장 외부에 있습니다.

전력거래소는 전력시장 외부에 있는 태양광 발전 설비의 출력 동향을 기상 조건 등 변수를 활용해 추산한 뒤 다시 시장 수요와 더해 총수요 추계치를 산출해 관리하고 있습니다.

전날 총수요가 최대에 달한 시점에 태양광 발전 출력은 17.924GW로 전체 전력 공급의 17.5%를 차지한 것으로 추정됐습니다.

총수요 역대 최대치 경신에는 지속되는 무더위의 영향이 컸습니다.
