[이코노미스트 이지완 기자] 배달의 민족 운영사인 우아한형제들은 최고경영자(CEO)인 이국환 대표가 일신상의 사유로 사임했다고 2일 밝혔다.지난해 1월 대표로 선임된 이후 1년 6개월 만이다.

이 전 대표의 사임에 따라 우아한형제들은 이날 오전 이사회를 열고 사내이사인 피터얀 반데피트(Pieter-Jan Vandepitte)를 임시 대표로 선임했다.반데피트 대표는 차기 대표의 정식 선임 전까지 임시 대표를 맡게 된다.

이 전 대표는 컨설팅업체 맥킨지 출신으로 지난 2017년 우아한행제들에 합류했다.이후 배민1 등 푸드딜리버리 사업과 B마트,로또 디지아이배민스토어 등 배달커머스 사업을 이끌며 우아한형제들의 성장을 도왔다.

우아한형제들은 오는 8월 이후 주주총회 및 이사회 의결을 거쳐 차기 대표 선임에 나설 예정이다.
