[제주=뉴시스] 오영재 기자 = 1800만원대 전화금융사기(보이스피싱) 피해를 예방한 은행 직원에게 경찰이 감사장과 보상금을 전달했다.

제주동부경찰서는 3일 IBK기업은행 제주지점에서 전화금융사기 검거 유공자 은행원 A씨에게 감사장 및 검거보상금을 수여했다고 4일 밝혔다.

A씨는 지난 6월27일 오전 7시30분께 은행을 찾은 B씨가 1800만원을 해외로 송금하려 하자 수상히 여겨 이유를 물었다.B씨가 횡설수설하며 제대로 답하지 못하자 즉각 경찰에 신고했다.

조사 결과 B씨는 보이스피싱 송금책으로 나타났다.경찰은 B씨를 검거하는 동시에 피해금이 입금된 계좌에 대해 지급정지를 진행했다.

경찰은 B씨를 사기 방조 혐의로 입건해 조사하는 한편 피해자를 찾아 피해액을 전달할 예정이다.

박형규 제주동부경찰서장은 "전화금융사기는 범죄 특성상 회복이 어렵기 때문에 예방이 무엇보다 중요한데,원달러 카지노금융기관 직원(A씨)의 세심한 주의와 관심으로 시민의 재산을 지킬 수 있었다"며 "금융기관과 유기적인 협조체제를 지속적으로 유지해 앞으로도 보이스피싱 예방과 피의자 검거에 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
