정부가 의대 증원 정책에 반발해 이탈한 뒤 복귀하지 않은 전공의들에 대해 면허정지 등의 행정처분을 하지 않기로 했습니다.

또 사직한 전공의가 오는 9월 전공의 모집에 재응시할 수 있도록 길을 열어주기로 했습니다.

홍진아 기자가 보도합니다.

정부가 복귀 여부와 상관없이 모든 전공의에 대한 행정처분을 철회하기로 했습니다.

미복귀 전공의에게도 아무런 처분을 내리지 않기로 결정한 겁니다.

현장을 지켜왔거나 복귀한 전공의와 형평성이 어긋난다는 지적에 정부는 진료 공백 최소화를 위한 결단이라고 말했습니다.

[조규홍/보건복지부 장관 : "앞으로 정부가 구축하려고 하는 필수의료를 책임질 젊은 의사라는 점을 감안해서 정부가 비판을 각오하고 결정을 내리게 된 것이고요."]

사직 전공의가 올해 9월 수련에 재응시할 수 있도록 관련 규정도 완화하기로 했습니다.

현행 지침에는 수련 기간 도중 사직한 전공의는 1년 내 같은 과목이나 연차로 복귀할 수 없도록 정하고 있습니다.

이에 따라 정부는 복귀한 전공의의 경우,정선 호텔 5성특례를 적용해 전문의 자격을 차질없이 취득할 수 있도록 지원할 방침입니다.

전공의들과 이견을 빚어 온 사직 처리 시점에 대해서는,정선 호텔 5성6월 기준 처리가 원칙이라면서도 병원과 협의로 결정될 사항이라고 말했습니다.

그러면서 하반기 전공의 모집을 위해 각 수련병원에는 오는 15일까지 미복귀 전공의에 대한 사직 처리를 완료해달라고 요청했습니다.

지난 5일 기준 전국 수련병원의 전공의 출근율은 8%에 못 미치고,정선 호텔 5성레지던트 사직률은 0.6%에 불과한 것으로 나타났습니다.
