한미약품이 "개발 중인 비만치료제 'HM15275'의 동물 대상 비임상 연구에서 약 40％의 체중 감량 효과가 나타났다"고 오늘(25일) 밝혔습니다.

한미약품은 지난 21∼24일 미국 올랜도에서 열린 미국당뇨병학회(ADA)에서 이 같은 내용을 발표했습니다.

HM15275는 식욕 억제를 돕는 글루카곤 유사 펩타이드-1(GLP-1),톰 케어니인슐린 분비 자극 펩타이드(GIP),톰 케어니에너지 소비를 촉진해 체중 감소 효과를 내는 글루카곤(GCG) 등 3개 수용체의 작용을 최적화하는 차세대 삼중 작용제입니다.

회사 측은 "기존 GLP-1 기반 약물 '세마글루타이드' 등은 비만 치료 임상에서 약 15∼20％ 수준 체중 감량 효과를 내는 데 그쳤다"며 "차세대 비만신약을 처음 선보인 것"이라고 설명했습니다.

HM15275는 앞서 지난달 미국 식품의약청(FDA)으로부터 임상 1상 시험 계획을 승인받았습니다.
