8일 관련 업계와 관계 부처에 따르면 공정위는 최근 구글의 공정거래법 위반 의혹에 대해 제재 의견을 담은 심사보고서(검찰의 공소장 격)를 발송했다.

공정위는 구글이 동영상 서비스 유튜브를 광고 없이 볼 수 있는 유튜브 프리미엄 상품을 판매하면서 유튜브 뮤직을 끼워 팔아 음악 스트리밍 시장으로 시장 지배력을 부당하게 전이했다고 보고 있다.이러한 '끼워 팔기'로 소비자가 유튜브 뮤직 구매를 강제 당하고 멜론 등 다른 음원 스트리밍 사업자의 영업 활동을 방해했다는 것이 공정위의 판단이다.

공정위는 이와 관련해 지난해 초 구글코리아를 상대로 현장 조사를 벌인 것으로도 알려졌다.공정위는 조만간 전원회의를 열고 제재 여부와 수위를 결정할 예정이다.

한편 유튜브(구글코리아) 관계자는 "진행 중인 조사에 대해서는 말씀을 드릴 수 없지만 유튜브는 계속해서 공정위 조사에 적극 협조할 것"이라고 밝혔다.
