4일 중국 관차저왕 등은 장쑤성 정부가 최근 발표한 관용차 구입 목록에 테슬라 모델Y가 포함됐다고 전했다.

테슬라 자동차가 중국 관용차 구입 목록에 포함된 것은 이번이 처음이다.

테슬라 외에도 중국 지리 자동차에 매각된 스웨덴 볼보의 XC40도 해당 목록에 포함된 것으로 알려졌다.

장쑤성의 한 관계자는 “테슬라 자동차(모델Y)는 수입차가 아니라 (중국에서 생산된) 국산 자동차이기 때문에 선정됐다”고 주장했다.

테슬라 차가 관용차가 된데는 일론 머스크 테슬라 최고경영자(CEO)의 친중 행보와 관련있는 것으로 평가된다.

머스크 CEO가 지난 4월 중국을 방문한 이후 중국 당국은 외국 자동차기업 중 처음으로 테슬라에 대한 데이터 안전검사 적합판정을 내린 바 있다.

테슬라는 또 중국의 대표 빅테크 바이두와 지도 제작 및 내비게이션 부문에서 협력하기로 했다.

한때 테슬라 자동차는 정보 유출 우려로 중국 정부기관과 군사기지,국어 벼락치기공항 등 출입이 금지되기도 했었다.
