최근 제주특별자치도,도쿄돔 좌석한라산국립공원 홈페이지 게시판에는 한라산 백록담에 표지석을 추가로 설치해달라는 민원이 계속되고 있다.

A씨는 한라산국립공원 홈페이지에서 "며칠 전 백록담에 올랐는데,도쿄돔 좌석사람들이 줄을 길게 서고 있었다.족히 6~70m는 돼 보였다"며 백록담에 등산객들로 북새통을 이룬 사진을 올렸다.

그러면서 "4~5시간을 힘들게 등반한 뒤 (표지석에서) 사진을 찍기 위해 뙤약볕에서 한 시간을 다시 기다리는 불편을 견디기 어렵다"며 "백록담 표지석은 여러 형태로 몇 개 더 만들면,도쿄돔 좌석이 많은 사람이 줄을 서지 않아도 되지 않을까"라고 제안했다.

한라산국립공원 측은 "백록담 정상석(표지석) 배경으로 기념 쵤영이나 등정 인증 관련 사진을 찍는 것은 한라산국립공원 관리 측도 공감하고 있는 부분"이라고 전했다.

그러나 "정상석이 아니더라도 나무표지석이나 백록담 부근에서 촬영하는 것도 안내방송을 하고 있다.그러나 정상석은 특수성이 있어 추가 설치에 어려움이 있다"고 덧붙였다.

최근 한라산 백록담 표지석은 등산객들의 '인증샷(기념사진)' 명소로 유명세를 타고 있다.

등반객들이 '한라산천연보호구역 백록담'이라고 새겨진 표지석과 사진을 찍으려고 몰리면서 장사진이 펼쳐지는 상황이다.
