14일 인공지능(AI) 활용전략 발표회
하반기 인공지능(AI) 기술 실증·연구사업 본격화

[서울=뉴시스] 14일 특허청은 LG AI연구원과 LG사이언스파크에서 특허심사 지원을 위한 인공지능(AI) 활용전략 발표회를 열었다.이인수 산업재산정보국장(왼쪽서 다섯번째)이 발표회를 마치고 LG AI연구원 이화영 상무(왼쪽서 여섯째) 등 양기관 관계자들과 기념촬영을 하고 있다.(사진=특허청 제공) *재판매 및 DB 금지[대전=뉴시스] 김양수 기자 = 특허청은 14일 LG사이언스파크에서 LG AI연구원과 특허심사 지원을 위한 '인공지능(AI) 활용전략 발표회'를 열어 인공지능 특허심사 시스템 구축을 위한 기술실증·연구사업에 본격 착수키로 했다고 밝혔다.

특허청은 특허·상표·디자인 심사업무를 지원키 위해 지난해 AI 활용 특허행정 혁신 로드맵을 수립하고 LG AI연구원과 특허행정에 특화된 초거대 AI 언어모델을 구축했다.

이번 발표회는 지난해 구축한 특허전용 언어모델과 최신 AI를 특허행정에 활용키 위한 활용전략 도출 과정과 결과를 공유하고 향후 협력사항을 논의키 위한 자리로 특허청 이인수 산업재산정보국장,bl 월드컵LG AI연구원 이화영 상무 등이 참석했다.

참석자들은 특허심사 업무 중 AI 적용이 가능한 분야와 구체적인 적용방법을 제시하고 AI 기술의 실증·연구 및 개발 사업의 방향과 범위를 확인했다.

특허청은 이번 발표회를 토대로 올 하반기부터 LG AI연구원과 AI 기술 실증·연구 사업을 본격적으로 추진,bl 월드컵특허심사에 적용할 AI기술의 성능과 효과를 검증하고 최적기술을 적용할 특허심사 환경을 단계적으로 구축해 나갈 예정이다.

이인수 특허청 국장은 "산업재산권 출원이 증가하고 방대한 특허정보가 누적돼 심사부담이 가중되고 있는 상황"이라며 "인공지능을 특허행정시스템에 적극 도입해 심사업무의 효율성을 지속적으로 높여 우리기업의 신속한 특허 확보를 지원하겠다"고 말했다.
