[앵커]

민주당이 검사 4명에 대한 탄핵소추안을 발의하자 검찰은 강력 반발했습니다.

이원석 검찰총장은 민주당의 검사 탄핵 시도를 위헌과 위법,콜로 무아니 프로필사법방해 등 5가지 사유를 들어 비판하면서 우리 사회를 법치에서 야만으로 추락시킬 거라고 경고했습니다.

최민영 기자의 보도입니다.

검사 4명에 대한 탄핵안이 발의된 직후,이례적으로 대검찰청 기자실을 찾은 이원석 검찰총장.

탄핵안에 대해 "이재명 전 대표가 재판장을 맡고 민주당이 재판을 직접 다시 하겠다는 것과 같다"며 강하게 비판했습니다.

[이원석/검찰총장 : "이재명 대표라는 권력자를 수사하고 재판하는 검사를 탄핵해서 수사와 재판을 못 하게 만들고,콜로 무아니 프로필권력자의 형사 처벌을 모면하겠다는 것입니다."]

그러면서 탄핵안의 문제점을 다섯 가지로 조목조목 비판했습니다.

민주당과 국회가 사법부 재판권을 빼앗겠다는 것으로 위헌이고,국회의 감사와 조사는 재판 또는 수사에 관여할 수 없다는 국정감사법을 어겨 위법이라는 겁니다.

또 탄핵소추 의결만으로도 검사들의 직무가 정지된다는 점에서 '사법방해 탄핵',이 전 대표 사건과 직·간접적으로 연관된 검사들에 대한 '보복 탄핵',이 전 대표를 처벌하기 어렵게 만들고자 하는 '방탄 탄핵'이라고 주장했습니다.

[이원석/검찰총장 : "단지 권력자를 수사했다는 이유만으로 검사 탄핵이 현실화된다면 우리는 문명사회에서 야만의 나락으로 떨어지는 것입니다."]

탄핵안이 수사와 재판에 미칠 영향에 대해 이 총장은 "현실적으로 지장이 없을 수는 없다"면서 "대검 검사들을 보내서라도 업무에 지장이 없게 하겠다"고 강조했습니다.
