교도통신 등에 따르면 도쿄전력은 지난 9일 원자로 2호기 사용후 핵연료 냉각풀의 수위 확인용 탱크 내 물 높이가 비정상적으로 떨어진 것을 보고 누수를 확인했습니다.

이 탱크는 사용후 핵연료 냉각풀에서 넘친 물을 받아 모으면서 냉각풀의 만수 상태를 점검하는 시설입니다.

도쿄전력은 누수를 확인한 뒤 5층에 있는 사용후 핵연료 냉각풀에 대한 물 주입을 정지했습니다.

도쿄전력은 문제의 탱크와 연결된 건물 3층 방에서 배수구를 통해 물이 흘러 내려가는 것도 확인했습니다.

도쿄전력은 모레 건물 3층에 원격 조작 로봇을 투입해 방사선량을 측정하고 누수 원인 등을 조사할 계획입니다.
