긴급전화 112에 상습적으로 전화해 경찰관에게 욕설을 하고 협박을 한 50대 남성이 구속됐습니다.

이 남성,토트넘축구중계두 달 동안 1천 번 넘게 전화를 걸었습니다.

올해 초 전남경찰청 112상황실에 전화 한 통이 걸려 옵니다.

수화기 너머로 들려 온 건 다급한 신고 대신 한 남성의 욕설이었습니다.

[경찰관]
"예.긴급신고 112입니다.말씀하세요."
[피의자]
"내가 죽을 때까지 죽을 때까지.XXX야."

경찰관이 여러 번 만류도 해보고 설득도 해봤지만 소용이 없었습니다.

[피의자]
"내가 죽을 때까지 보복해 줄게.이 XXX야."
[경찰관]
"욕하지 마세요.누구한테 보복을 해요?"

이 남성이 지난 1월부터 두 달 동안 112에 전화한 횟수만 천여 차례.

이 가운데 백여 차례 협박성 발언과 욕설을 내뱉은 것으로 파악됐습니다.

아무 이유도 없이 술만 마시면 전화를 했다는 이 남성.

[당시 통화 경찰관]
"하루에 50회 가까이 이렇게 받았던 것 같아요.불안감도 있고요.욕설부터 들으면서 전화받으면 기분 좋은 사람이 어떻게 있겠어요?"

전화한 기억이 없다며 경찰 출석 요구에 불응하다 주거지인 목포의 한 아파트에서 체포돼 결국 구속됐습니다.

악성·허위 신고가 반복되면 행정력 낭비는 물론 긴급한 신고 대응이 늦어질 수 있습니다.

다음 달부터는 처벌도 강화됩니다.

"기존에는 60만 원 이하의 벌금을 처벌받았지만,토트넘축구중계(앞으로는) 기존 처벌과 더불어 500만 원 이하의 과태료가 부과…"

전국 112 치안종합상황실에 접수되는 허위·악성신고는 매년 4천 건이 넘습니다.
